Pregnancy Counseling

When facing an unexpected pregnancy, you might get a lot of advice on parenting or suggestions of looking at adoption. But where can you go to get unbiased help? Contact LSS because LSS pregnancy counseling is FREE, you don’t have to choose adoption, and outreach services are available throughout South Dakota.

LSS pregnancy counseling offers non-judgmental assistance in exploring your options. You can get help in planning a budget and finding community resources and support systems to be a successful parent, if parenting is what you decide is best for you and your baby.

If you decide adoption is what you’d like to consider, your counselor can provide profiles of adoptive families who have been approved to adopt in the state of South Dakota. You can feel confident in knowing these families have been trained in how to be successful adoptive parents, and taught how to have a positive open relationship with birth families.  Your pregnancy counselor will mediate with the adoptive family, the birth father, assist you in developing a hospital plan, and mediate with hospital staff. They will also assist you with the court process. There is also a support group for birth parents because sometimes you just need to visit with others who “get” where you’ve been. When you chose adoption with LSS, we are here for you for as long as you need us.

It’s not an easy decision to make. You owe it to yourself and your baby to know all your options to plan for your future. If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, contact LSS via phone at 1-888-201-5061 or 605-221-2346, email, or find us on Facebook.
