We are now in the second week of the third month of 2015. Can you believe it? January and February flew by and before we know it April will be here. In the meantime, let’s celebrate March – which means St. Patrick’s Day! Here are some things to do with kids to celebrate this holiday!
Where did St. Patrick’s Day come from? Check out this book from any of the Siouxland libraries. There are many other books as well that talk about St. Patrick’s Day! Before reading a book, ask kids what they know about this holiday, it might surprise you!
Bring a tasty surprise! During the month of March, McDonald’s sells shamrock shakes, and let me tell you, they are delicious! Starting at $2.59, these are a great treat while enjoying a St. Patrick’s Day book or craft.
Make a rainbow! There are so many cool ideas on Pinterest for everything! So much fun to be had. To avoid searching through the hundreds of ideas, here is a great St. Patrick’s Day activity that any kid will enjoy. Who thought you could make your very own rainbow in a jar with just a few liquids?! It’s possible; just follow this link to find all of the ingredients and directions. Have fun!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s just one week from today!
