The Council on Accreditation (COA) approved the reaccreditation of Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota marking LSS’s 20th anniversary of continuous accreditation. This accreditation attests that LSS meets the highest national standards and delivers the best quality services to the communities it serves.
“Reaccreditation is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates that your organization is recognized as a provider that continues to successfully implement high performance standards and, as such, is delivering the highest quality services to all of its stakeholders,” says Richard Klarberg, COA President and CEO.
The COA accreditation process involves an in-depth examination of the agency’s compliance with best practice standards. This is a six-month agency-wide process that includes a self-study by the agency and an on-site study by a COA team of reviewers.
“LSS has a long-standing commitment to quality services. COA accreditation exemplifies our commitment to do the very best on behalf of those we serve statewide,” said Betty Oldenkamp, LSS President/CEO. “We have been able to bring quality improvement full circle by using the data collected to make informed decisions and drive quality improvements. It is the everyday attention to performance and quality that allow us to be a premier agency serving families in their homes or communities.”
“I am extremely pleased and proud of our program leadership and employees,” continued Oldenkamp. “This accreditation re-affirms the value and importance of the work we do and the people we serve. We are living up to our values of being compassionate, appreciative, respectful, ethical and strategic. What we do every day is touching someone else’s life and making it better. Congratulations to everyone on the LSS team for their outstanding contribution.”
