Volunteers Needed for Community Clean Up

With still more than 240 sites needing cleanup following Winter Storm Atlas last October, volunteers are needed to assist those in need with debris clean up. Volunteers do not need specific skills, just need to lend a willing hand.

VOAD is looking for volunteers to assist on May 31 and June 1 with community cleanup.“Volunteers play a crucial part in our community, especially helping disabled and elderly get back to their normal lives,” said Lisa Adler, LSS Regional Director and South Dakota VOAD President.

People who would like to volunteer in Pennington, Lawrence, Meade, Custer, Fall River and Butte counties are asked to call the Helpline Center at 2-1-1 or toll free at 1-877-708-4357.

Individuals and volunteer teams will be contacted by a volunteer coordinator and assigned projects.

South Dakota Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (SD VOAD) is a group of voluntary organizations active in disaster relief that supports and facilitates services to those affected by disaster in South Dakota.
