They say that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Whether people are experiencing depression, having a difficult time at work, struggling with relationship issues, or dealing with the loss of a loved one, taking the step to start counseling can be a difficult decision.

LSS Counseling Services recently restructured its intake process to make it easier for people to ask for help. Clients and referral sources can now call 1-855-334-2953 to access counseling services statewide. Our Intake staff is trained to listen, assess need and connect people with one of our licensed, professional counselors to help begin the healing process.
When you call our central intake number, our staff will gather some background information on why you are seeking help, ask you for some basic demographic and contact information, and discuss insurance or other payers that you may be able to access. They will then schedule you with an appropriate counselor based on needs.
One obstacle for people considering counseling is often a fear of how much it will cost. LSS is committed to making counseling services accessible to people at all income levels. We have a sliding fee scale based on gross household income that starts at $25 per hour and goes up to $140 per hour. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major insurance companies. We hold many local employee assistance programs and contracts with national employee assistance programs. Counseling may be available under these plans at no cost. VOCA (victim of crime assistance) funding may be available for free sessions of counseling for individuals who are victims of violent crime. This includes domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, sexual assault, and other violent crimes.
