Homebuyers

If you are looking to purchase a home, or have plans to do so in the future, a counseling session can help you better understand and prepare for the unfamiliar terms, obligations, and financial responsibilities that come with homeownership. In addition to pre-purchase counseling sessions, we also offer Homebuyer Express. This is a two-part educational opportunity that covers everything from financing to closing the sale on your new home. Check here for upcoming class dates.

Homeowners

If you are concerned about your home loan, considering refinancing, or would like to pay down your mortgage faster, a counseling session is right for you. A housing counselor can assist with loan modification and other foreclosure prevention tactics and work with your lender on your behalf. We can also help you develop a spending plan to get back on track and help make your mortgage payments fit within your budget.

Renters

For those leasing an apartment or looking to lease in the future, a counseling session can help you understand what you can afford and how to best budget your income. In addition to counseling sessions, we also offer Tenant—Landlord Rights and Responsibilities classes. Check here for the July class schedule.

Interested in a Reverse Mortgage

For those 62 years or older, obtaining a reverse mortgage may be an option. Qualified homeowners can withdraw the equity in their home to assist with expenses. A reverse mortgage counselor can help you determine if this option is right for you.
