We are busy enrolling students for summer and next fall! Please spread the word so that everyone can join the fun! Give us a call at (605)371-8770 or stop by for a tour. We love to show you what we are learning!
Our unique and exciting summer program offers school age students fun and enriching experiences. The children keep learning and preparing for the next school year in ways that are hands-on and child-friendly.
Our program uses weekly themes and exciting field trips to frame learning. Three weekly pool trips and weekly trips to the library or bookmobile in addition to the ‘big adventure’ of each week keep children enjoying their summer.
Each day is exciting and each week offers a new adventure. Our weekly themes for this summer are:
Nature and Nurture, Fitness Frenzy, Stars and Stripes, Blast from the Past, Spontaneous Science, Safari, Under the Sea, NASA Engineering Week, Camping, Beach, Communities, and Theatre.
Programs are open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are served. Children can bring their own sack lunch or purchase a hot lunch on location. We open the week after Sioux Falls schools dismiss for the summer and continue through the summer until school begins again in the fall. LSS Summer Programs are open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade, Monday through Friday.
We offer this exciting program at all four of our convenient locations.
The Southern Hills Preschool and Infant/ Toddler Enrichment Programs offer a progressive curriculum that builds on strengths of students. The program provides a stimulating learning environment that will help prepare students for kindergarten and instill a love of learning. We offer childcare and education services at a Sioux Falls location with affordable rates.
We offer a unique program to parents using an online product called Teaching Strategies GOLD. GOLD is an assessment system that helps teachers be intentional in their teaching by accurately pinpointing where children are in their development and learning. It’s a teacher-friendly, easy-to-understand approach to observation, documentation, portfolio-building, and reporting–the essential components of a high-quality assessment system. This system allows parents immediate access to reports that show their child’s development and activities that are up to date. It also allows parents to provide input to the program which helps staff develop activities specifically planned for their child’s needs.
